In the case of Linda and David Orams, the lawyer for Meletis Apostolides, the pre-1974 Greek Cypriot owner of the land upon which Mr and Mrs Orams have built their house, has obtained an order from the Nicosia District Court in South Cyprus, which is now an EU country, ordering the Orams to demolish the house and pay compensation.
The case has been brought to UK courts for the enforcement of this decision under the Brussels Convention (Enforcement of Foreign Court Decisions among EU countries) . Today I have been informed by the legal counsel of Orams that G. Cypriot application has been rejected by the UK court and the UK court has further decided against G. Cypriot applicants to pay compensation and expenses with respect to their case.
I shall inform you with respect to the full content of the UK court decision.
Yours Sincerely
